The natural flow from one set of dunes to the other on this dogleg right is the most naturally feeling hole on the course. I have played about 40 of the top 100 clubs on this list, all of the Open courses, and about 30 top 100 courses in the USA. There are better courses for half the price. The seventh is my favorite hole on the course, a wonderful dogleg with eleven bunkers starting from a raised tee and finishing between sand hills. The back nine will test the resolve of even the most ardent as evidenced by the 490 yard, par 4, 11th hole where the railway on the right side of the hole awaits to derail your efforts. At less than 125 yards from the back tees it should not set the heart racing, but the "postage stamp" green is surrounded by the scariest collection of grassy mounds, pot bunkers and slick run-offs found on any Open Championship course.
